What is the steps / methods involved in upgrading from 2007B to version 9.0 ? can we upgrade directly to 9.0 ? we have around 22 addons running in 2007B

Hi,
Please advice 2007 PL and 9.0 PL. there is minimum base version required to upgrade to 9.0 version.
Also note that, there is new version 9.1 from middle of this year. (I think already released).

It is not possible to directly upgrade from 2007 B to 9.0. Please refer SAP note for required base versions.

Bare Metal Backup on SAP Linux System.
Hi Everyone,
To minimize down time on a SAP system a good way to restore the entire SAP system is from Bare Metal backup from within this process the OS and System are already in place. Is there a opensource Bare Metal Backup out there that work both on Linux and Window OS? Have any one tried this process on Disaster and Recover?

We had the same problem on our version 9PL11.
We have a VPN setup which external users connect into to access our server. They have SAP client installed on their laptops. Over the VPN, it was impossible to connect until we modified the host file as indicated by Göte and it works like a charm.
Funnily enough, I remember having to modify the client host file for a multidimensional software about 17 years ago, otherwise it couldn't connect to the server. This BI software has long disappeared from the shelves and the editor has been sold many times to bigger and bigger companies. The one before last was Business Object, who was bought by ... SAP!
Pretty sad to see that SAP is not putting much effort into connecting the remote users.

I have an issue with this also. In Sap business one service manager tool, SETTING,SCHEDULE,CONNECTION AND DATA BASE buttons are freeze. i m not able to click on Setting. how can i reset my Sap B1 user Password.
I also didnt get window of giving B1 user password while installing SERVER TOOLS. help me please to reset my B1 user password.

BI Portal not working after upgrading JSPM Patch alone from SP14 to SP30

We have upgraded JSPM patch only from sp14 to sp30.
after upgrading JSPM Patch to sp30, BI Portal is not working.
The system is High availability cluster system.
OS: AIX6.1
We are getting the below error in the Portal
"503 Service Unavailable
Application stopped.

please stop the system again. Clear the IPC with "sidadm> cleanipc <sysnr.> remove" and then start it again! If this doesn't work, please post the dev_server0 logfile.

System copy --- Import issue in Import ABAP phase
HI Team, We are doing migration using system export/import method from win2008/SQL2008 to Win2012/SQL2012 . While doing export there was a problem with table SOFFCONT1 , So we have followed the note 1922094 and changed the size of the package from 1 GB to 2 GB in SOFFCONT1.cmd , After this We have exported the data from the source system using SWPM tool. Now we are importing in to Target system , During the Import ABAP phase we are facing the below issue for same table SOFFCONT1 . Could you please tell us how to fix this issue .
